Elle Café, Tokyo

Maison Sarah Lavoine is inaugurating its first project in Japan with the opening of Elle Café, which has been entrusted to us by the Lagardère Group.
A café and restaurant in Tokyo's bustling Shibuya district. Two levels, two universes, two decorative responses with common points of French know-how and respect for Japanese codes. The challenge was to find harmony between the different spaces and cultures.

On the ground floor, the colours are soft and clear. Large structural posts are dressed in white earthenware with planters at the top. Noble, soft, luminous materials such as white marble, brass or waxed concrete are combined with a few touches of colour, including the unmistakable Bleu Sarah.

Upstairs, the restaurant with its more elegant and intimate decoration opens onto a wine cellar reworked like a precious chest separating the staircase from the dining room. A large black marble bar with a set of glassware and brass tubes sits like a work of art on a walnut parquet floor. An ornamental wink through wickerwork on panels, filtering the light and conveying a very soothing atmosphere.

A very successful project, an organic and now iconic coffee, combining the House's style with the codes of Japanese culture.
