A light catcher when it comes to entertaining, the Basile tray perfectly embodies the Maison's codes. Playing with the inside and the outside, its thousand lacquered reflections vary the chromatic pleasures. Now emblematic, it proves (if proof were still needed) that you can play the curves card with character.

Thanks to its white border accompanying its enveloping curve, the Basile tray takes a collective gamble by focusing on the echo of the colors and sizes of its different models.

It owes its elegant, smooth, shiny appearance to its traditional lacquer, applied and dried by hand on its wood in multiple successive layers from a partner workshop of the House located in Vietnam.

Les Artisans du Beau - La Laque

Chaque pièce laquée est le fruit d’un travail artisanal d’une extrême précision, perpétuant un savoir-faire ancestral originaire du Vietnam. Utilisée depuis des siècles, la laque végétale provient du laquier, un arbre dont la résine est transformée, mélangée à des pigments naturels et à de la terre, avant d’être patiemment appliquée sur un support en bois.

De la mise en forme de la base en bois à l'application du logo, plus d’une vingtaine d’étapes se succèdent, toutes réalisées à la main, dans le respect de la tradition. Façonnage, ponçage, polissage, nettoyage, applications successives de couches protectrices, de laques transparentes et de couleurs par sprayage, chaque geste est maîtrisé et répété avec minutie.

Chaque objet est ainsi poncé, poli, séché et laqué avec soin, plusieurs fois, jusqu’à obtenir une finition brillante ou mat.

Une œuvre façonnée par le temps, la patience et la main de l’artisan.
