Accessibility
Sarah Lavoine SAS (Maison Sarah Lavoine) is committed to making its online sales site accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of the user's hardware, software or disability. This approach is part of the European Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility of products and services (“European Accessibility Act”), applicable since June 28, 2025, and its transposition into French law.
This accessibility statement applies to the site www.maisonsarahlavoine.com.
What is digital accessibility?
Digital accessibility consists of designing online sites and services that can be used by everyone, including people with disabilities: visual, hearing, motor, cognitive or neurological impairments. It benefits more widely all Internet users - keyboard navigation, mobile reading, slow connections, temporary situations (brightness, fatigue, noisy environment).
An accessible site is based on four main principles derived from international rules WCAG :
- Noticeable : the information and components of the interface are presented in such a way that they can be perceived by everyone (alternative texts of images, sufficient contrasts, clear structure).
- Usable : all features are accessible, including the keyboard, with no time limit imposed.
- Understandable : the content and operation of the interface are readable and predictable.
- Robust : the content remains reliably interpretable by a wide variety of tools, including assistive technologies (screen readers).
Compliance status
The site maisonarahlavoine.com is partially compliant to the repository WCAG 2.1 level AA (aligned with European standard EN 301 549), due to the deviations and exemptions noted below.
Our approach
Maison Sarah Lavoine has initiated a process of continuous improvement of the accessibility of its site: technical evaluation, progressive corrections and taking into account accessibility in future developments. This statement will be updated as these developments evolve.
Content not accessible
Despite our efforts, some content is not yet fully accessible:
- some interactive components and editorial content may not meet all criteria;
- on certain sections whose appearance is customizable, the color contrast is not guaranteed depending on the content displayed;
- content provided by third-party services is not controlled by the site editor.
Exemptions for disproportionate burden
Certain features are provided by third-party providers whose code is not controlled by the site publisher (management of cookie consent, messaging and online assistance, customer reviews, product recommendations, product viewers). Their compliance is the responsibility of these service providers. We will ultimately favor accessible solutions.
Improvements already made
Since spring 2026, a series of improvements have been made through several updates to the site, including:
- addition of explicit titles (accessible names) to links and buttons carrying icons: search, account access, store access, product grid display selector, quantity selector and close buttons;
- explicit labels on the “previous/next” buttons of carousels and galleries, now programmatically linked to the content they scroll;
- reinforcement of keyboard navigation: opening of keyboard navigation submenus, and opening, browsing and closing (Escape key) of product information windows - characteristics, availability in store, size guide - with focus management;
- reliability of forms: labels correctly associated with their fields, error messages linked to the field concerned in customer account processes (connection, registration, reset and password activation);
- grouping product options (color, size) in a way that assistive technologies can understand;
- neutralization of purely decorative images (icons, monograms) for screen readers, and reliability of alternative image texts;
- reporting the status of interactive components to assistive technologies (e.g. day/night display mode of collections);
- taking into account accessibility (keyboard controls, markers, titles) in the new components developed for the site.
Establishment of this declaration
This declaration was established on July 21, 2026. It is based on a technical evaluation of the site (audit of the HTML, CSS, JavaScript code and theme templates) carried out in July 2026, with regard to the criteria of the WCAG 2.1 level AA.
