Nil and Oasis, two embroidered cushions
The Nil cushion can be traced with your finger thanks to its central line which guides the design, and the mind leaves the sofa where you are comfortably seated. Its relief pattern and embroidery stitches evoke the movement of water, on a half-wool, half-cotton surface whose texture is reminiscent of felt.
The Oasis cushion poses another question: reality or optical illusion? The more you look at it, the more its circular pattern evokes a mirage in the desert. Placed side by side or mixed with plains, these two cushions immediately give relief to a seat, on a deep sofa or on a bed, alongside the new seats from the collection.
The Kimi blanket, a Japanese print
With its design reminiscent of the weave of a kimono, the Kimi blanket transports you to the Land of the Rising Sun in the blink of an eye. Made entirely of wool, its soft and silky touch evokes the serenity of a Zen garden. Carefully placed on a sofa or used to dress a bed, it gets the job done.
How many cushions, and what size?
The question comes up often. On a two-seater sofa, three cushions are enough; on a three-seater, there are five, in odd numbers, which always gives a more natural result than a perfectly symmetrical arrangement. We start with the largest sizes at the ends, then add smaller sizes towards the center.
Mixing formats matters more than mixing patterns. A 50 centimeter square, a rectangle and a small square already create sufficient relief, even in a single color. If you want to play with patterns, the rule can be summed up in one sentence: a strong pattern, a discreet pattern, a plain color that makes the connection. Finally, a cushion must be filled a little larger than its cover, otherwise it will fall and give a tired look to the sofa.
