Apartment Invalides, Paris 7e

In a private mansion, this 800m2 apartment faces the dome of the Invalides. An exceptional place on three levels. 

The 1st floor hosts relaxation areas with a billiard room, a cinema room and a swimming pool with a movable bottom. A technical feat for this pool with counter-current swimming and whose water depth can be adjusted to any height.  A very mineral world where Vals stone fills the entire spa and creates an almost thermal, soothing and resourcing atmosphere. In this space, our architecture studio has nested a box inside the box, with a cinema room whose leather seating frames a giant screen. Sarah, always very attentive to the journey of the eye through the spaces between them, designs a large murderer that creates a synergy from the room to the outside. 

On the 4th and 5th floors, the private apartments are duplexes. Two large, highly-planted terraces connect with the interior. Evergreen trees in summer and winter prolong the very floral, plant-like decor.

The great strength of the project was to open the apartment to the outside. Like a house on a roof, the façade of the roof on the 5th floor has been completely opened up with large workshop bays, in order to let in the light and to give a view of the sky and the Invalides.

The choice of noble materials has been carefully chosen, bringing character and charm to the lounge and bedrooms. The parquet floors are in solid oak, the structured stones cover the corridors, the cladding of defibrillated wood, softens the stair railings. To sophisticate certain spaces, the bathroom has been designed as a white marble case underlined with black marble. The kitchen is covered with stainless steel and black enamelled sheet metal framing the vintage tulip table by Knoll.

A luxurious project, bathed in light, which combines several very natural and elegant universes, in which technical innovations sublimate the space.
